Unlock your potential at the Oldham Careers Fair

Oldham Career Fair Published: Friday, 15th September 2023

Mark your calendars. The new free Oldham Careers Fair is taking place on Tuesday 26 September, from 3 – 7pm at Oldham Queen Elizabeth Hall, Oldham.

Hosted by Oldham Council, the event promises to be a must for young people aged 15 to 25 looking to start their career, get a new job, or further their skills.

Attendees will get the chance to meet organisations from across Oldham who are looking for talented residents to join their teams. Not only that but, those who attend can also get guidance and support on training opportunities available to them.

Those who don’t know what their future holds will have the opportunity to speak to exhibitions about the different career options available within different sectors, helping you gain a better understanding of potential career paths.

As well as more than 40 businesses, education, training and engagement providers in attendance, there will be inspiring talks on securing apprenticeships, getting into a legal career and how to get into the arts and culture sector as a career.

Cllr Mohon Ali, Cabinet Member for Education and Skills, said:

“I would encourage young people who are looking for employment or anyone who wants to find out about the opportunities open to them across the borough, to come along to the free event.

“It’s a great opportunity to find your career, start a new one and gain first-hand knowledge from people in the sectors you want to get into.

It’s exciting times for the borough as our regeneration plans, including the creation of 2,000 homes in the town centre and a new theatre, will bring businesses to the borough, boosting the local economy and bringing in more jobs.”

Oldham Community Leisure, Barlow’s Electrical and Pearson Legal are just some of the employers which have already confirmed they will be attending.

Just turn up on the day, no booking is required. The QE Hall is next to Oldham Bus Station and pay and display parking is also available. Oldham King Street Metrolink stop is just a 2-3 minute walk away.

Get Oldham Working, Positive Steps and a range of other support organisations will be in attendance if you need any guidance or support.
