Gallery Oldham

Opened in 2002, the award-winning venue brings together the borough's museum and gallery collections under one roof, creating a vibrant cultural destination that welcomes thousands of visitors each year. Admission is free, making it an excellent attraction for families, tourists, students, and anyone interested in discovering the rich heritage of Oldham

Of particular interest is the Charles Lees Collection of oil paintings, watercolours, drawings and engravings, presented to the town in 1888.
The items displayed in our foyer give some idea of the range of objects in our collections.

Its collections have been developed since 1883 and include works by renowned British artists such as L. S. Lowry, John William Waterhouse, Bridget Riley, Helen Bradley, and William Stott of Oldham, alongside an impressive collection of ceramics and contemporary art.

Designed with accessibility in mind, Gallery Oldham offers step-free access, lifts, family facilities, and welcoming public spaces. It forms part of the wider Cultural Quarter, alongside the library and learning facilities, allowing visitors to enjoy exhibitions, browse local history resources, and relax in nearby cafés and public spaces during their visit.
