‘Our lives will never be the same’: Heartfelt tribute to dad found dead as two charged with his murder

The family of a dad who was found dead in woodland after going missing have paid a heartfelt tribute to him.

Ashley Walsh, from Failsworth, went missing on January 7, 2022.

The 34-year-old’s body was tragically found in a wooded area of Sandhills Park in Collyhurst.

Aaron Evitt, 33, of Brentnor Road, Manchester, and Gerrard McGlacken, 45, of Kintore Walk, Manchester, have been charged with his murder.

Ashley’s family have now paid tribute to him, describing him as a ‘loving son, brother and dad’.

In a statement, they said: “Ashley, you have been tragically taken from us & our lives will never be the same.

“He was a loving son, brother & father that was loved by so many and will be deeply missed.

“Rest in peace Ashley, you will be forever in our hearts.”

Evitt and McGlacken have been remanded into custody and will appear at Manchester Magistrates’ Court this morning (Tuesday).

A 30-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.

She has since been released on bail.
