Emergency services are responding to an crash on the M66 northbound near Oldham this morning which is causing heavy queues and stationary traffic.
Two lanes were closed on the M66 Northbound at J3 Pilsworth Road, for Hollins shortly after 8.30am this morning (February 9).
Traffic data monitors INRIX reports that all traffic is now being held due to the crash.
There is currently congestion up to J4 for Simister Island.
Highways North West tweeted to confirm there had been a road traffic collision.
The tweet said: “We are currently dealing with RTC’s with lane closures at the following locations: A5300 SB lane 1 closed due to 2 veh RTC. M66 NB just prior to J3 exit, lane 1 closed Princess Parkway NB lane blocked.”
