A couple’s tram date was ‘ruined’ when officers discovered they were both wanted by police.
The pair were spotted acting suspiciously on the Oldham and Rochdale line by plain clothed officers.
Police from the Transport Unit have ramped up patrols on the line due to a rise in crime, a post on social media said.
Officers from GMP Oldham Central posted about the incident on the force’s Facebook page on Saturday morning.
They wrote: “Due to a rise in Crime on Oldham-Rochdale line #TransportUnit have increased patrols.

“A couple on a date were seen acting sus on a tram by plainclothes police.
“Their date was ruined when we found out both had warrants for their arrest!”
The force signed off the post with the hashtag #notgettingluckytonight.
