Cars driven into each other and man attacked with machete in car park

A man was taken to hospital after being attacked with a machete in Oldham last night

Cars were also smashing into each other during the shocking episode of violence in a car park.

Police said they were called to Anchor Business Park on Featherstall Road North in the Westwood area of the town just before 10pm to reports of people with machetes.

Emergency services including police officers and paramedics attended.

They found a 23-year-old male who had been assaulted with a machete, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said in a statement issued this morning.

He was taken to hospital, however his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

“Enquiries established that vehicles had also been driven into each other at the scene before being abandoned” the force added.

“Enquiries are ongoing and no arrests have been made.”

Video posted on social media showed a dark coloured car smashing into the side of another light coloured one during the incident on the car park of the converted mill complex, as several men run around with what appear to be weapons in their hands.

One of the men then chases one of the cars on foot before appearing to be driven at at the end of short clip.

Police are asking anyone with information, or footage to call them 0161 856 9015 or 101 quoting incident 3221 of 27/09/21.
